David Viviano

Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice David Viviano is the founder and managing member of Viviano Mediation Group PLC. He offers decades of experience resolving thousands of complex disputes as a justice, trial judge, and attorney. He is committed to understanding each party’s position, fostering open dialogue, and working tirelessly to achieve fair and equitable settlements.

Former Justice Viviano was appointed to the Supreme Court by former Governor Rick Snyder in 2013 and was re-elected to the court by wide margins in 2014 and 2016. While on the Court, Justice Viviano authored hundreds of majority, concurring, and dissenting opinions and statements on a wide range of legal topics. 

Prior to his service on the Supreme Court, Former Justice Viviano served as the Chief Judge of the Macomb County Circuit and Probate Courts, one of Michigan’s busiest trial courts. He was first elected to the Circuit Court in 2006 and had the privilege of serving on the bench with his father, retired Judge Antonio Viviano, and his sister, Judge Kathryn Viviano.

Former Justice Viviano started his legal career handling complex litigation matters at the nationally recognized law firms of Dickinson Wright and Jenner & Block. He later founded his own law firm and served as City Attorney for the City of Center Line.
